Nicolas Bossé is Senior Vice President, Governmental and regulatory affairs, for Brookfield Renewable in North America. He oversees all governmental and regulatory matters related to the organization’s energy trading, generation and marketing efforts.

Through his current position with Brookfield and past tenure at Hydro-Québec, he accumulated almost 20 years of experience in the energy sector ranging from technology product licensing to international mergers and acquisitions. Bossé has a vast knowledge of transmission, merchant generation and energy trading issues, as well as a deep understanding of energy policy and regulatory dynamics for the majority of the North American organized wholesale energy markets.

Holder of a baccalaureate degree in economics from the Université Laval (Quebec, Canada) and a master’s in economics from the Université du Québec à Montréal (Quebec, Canada), he currently serves on the boards of the Association of Power Producers of Ontario, Stakeholder Advisory Committee of the Independent Energy System Operator of Ontario, Quebec Association for the Production of Renewable Energy, the Canadian Electricity Association, the National Hydro Association (United States), and is a past director of the Independent Power Producers of New York and the New England Power Generator Association.
