Allison Clements guides the foundation’s strategies to ensure regulatory and capital markets drive decarbonization and the energy transition. Working with consultants, grantees, analysts, policymakers, and industry, she focuses on policies involving the role of utilities, public utility commissions, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and the financial sector.

Allison previously served as founder and principal at Goodgrid, LLC, a consulting firm focused on energy policy strategy. She founded Goodgrid after nine years with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). At NRDC, she directed the Sustainable FERC Project, and then provided strategy leadership on federal and regional policy related to renewable energy and distributed energy resource deployment and procurement, and the design of markets and the transmission system to support the energy transition. Allison previously spent several years in private law practice providing federal regulatory guidance to utilities and independent power producers, as well as negotiating energy infrastructure project financings. She began her career working on legislative and electoral campaigns for the League of Conservation Voters.

Allison earned a B.S. in Environmental Policy and Behavior from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
